The high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter is mainly used to capture dust particles and various suspended matters above 0.5μm. The air purifier is mainly composed of a filter element and a shell. The basic requirements for the filter are high filtration efficiency, low flow resistance, and long continuous usage for the sake of reducing later consumable costs.
As for filter element, it refers to the air filter. The HEPA filter plays a pivotal role in the air purification industry.
The HEPA filter can be widely used in the air supply outlet at the end of the air conditioner in the dust-free cleaning workshop in such industries as optical electronics, LCD liquid crystal manufacturing, biomedicine, precision instruments, beverages and food, and PCB printing. The HEPA filter and the ULPA (ultra-low penetration air) filter all can be used at the end of the cleanroom. According to their structure, they can be divided into: HEPA filter with partition, HEPA filter without partition, HEPA filter with high air volume, and ULPA filter..
The HEPA filter can be mainly classified into HEPA filter with partition, HEPA filter without partition, V-BED HEPA filter, high temperature HEPA filter and liquid flume HEPA filter.
1. HEPA filter without partition
The HEPA filter without partition replaces the aluminum foil of the HEPA filter with partition with hot melt adhesive to separate the filtering material. Because there is no partition, a 50mm thick non-partition filter can achieve the performance of a 150mm thick partition filter. The air volume of HEPA with 90mm thick frame can reach 1.3 times of SPAN 150mm thick standard resistance type and twice of SPAN 150mm thick standard resistance type under the same filter area and filtration efficiency. In general, the HEPA filter without partition can meet today's stringent requirements for various spaces, weights, and energy consumption of air purification industry.
2. HEPA filter with partition
The HEPA filter with partition is made of ultrafine fiber as filtering material and quality kraft paper through hot rolling process or offset paper, aluminum foil as a partition. It is glued with wooden frame or aluminum alloy frame and of some advantages like high filtration efficiency and low resistance and large air volume. The HEPA filter with partition mostly use double-sided coated copper plate paper as a partition to prevent contraction under the influence of cold, heat, dry and wet, thereby reducing dispersing of particles. It is suitable for low-level non-unidirectional flow projects and various purification facilities and clean workshops. Among HEPA filters with partition, aluminum partition filter are mainly used in high temperature or high humidity environments, while paper partition filter are used in ordinary clean environments. The air volume of the HEPA filter with partition is relatively high, which in turn makes it high temperature resistant.
3. Liquid Flume HEPA filter
The liquid flume high efficiency particulate air filter is also called tank filter, and is mainly used at the liquid sealed HEPA box at the end of the clean room.
